So your child is going
to middle school? Congratulations! Middle
School is a special place where your child
will have more teachers, a busier schedule,
more classmates, and more choices. This is
an exciting time, but it can be a little
scary for parents. As your child grows
older, he or she will be testing the waters
with new friends, new priorities, new ideas,
new preferences for styles and clothing, and
new attitudes, The first year of middle
school can be challenging for parents and
students; but, with the right information
and right attitude, parents can be the
support that their child needs. This
presentation will address topics that
commonly concern middle school students and
their parents.
STARTING HIGH SCHOOL: What Every Parent
Should Know
What is high school really like? Is high
school a lot different than middle school?
Is the class work going to be a lot harder?
Will my son/daughter be safe? Will he/she be
able to find his/her way around the school?
Does my child have good teachers? Is this a
good school? Is my child taking the right
courses? What about college, exams,
homework, etc.?
Starting high school is an important, yet
sometimes scary transition for students AND
their parents. The first few days of high
school can be very strange and stressful;
but with the right information and attitude,
parents and students can successfully
navigate the waters of starting high school.
This presentation will address topics that
commonly concern incoming freshmen and their
parents.
